N°01Where to start

The questions almost everyone has before opening a coffee shop.

This is where the consulting begins. We sort these questions, decide which ones to answer first and turn them into simple decisions. What changes between packages is how much time we have to go deep on each one.

01

Where should we start: business model, concept or menu?

It depends on how clear the idea is. A simple Business Model Canvas usually helps decide who you sell to and why they would choose you; with that settled, the concept and the menu come together much faster. In the first session we agree with your team on the order that suits the project best.

02

What equipment does the project need, and why?

Espresso machine, grinder, refrigeration, point of sale and the rest are chosen from the menu, the expected volume and the budget, not the other way around. We explain to your team what to buy from day one, what can wait and which alternatives keep you from overspending.

03

How much do we need to get started, and when could we open?

Together with your team we build an estimate of the total investment (equipment, inventory, build-out and promotion) with simple financial projections, and lay it out on a realistic timeline so you know what to do first and what can be postponed.

04

How do we define the concept and the menu?

We start from the customer, the budget and the coffee your team wants to serve, and arrive at a short, costed menu that can be standardized. It grows later, with what you learn from real sales.

05

How do we organize day-to-day operations?

Recipes, opening and closing, cleaning, purchasing and service can go into a first operations manual anyone on your team can follow; we can also train the people who will run the bar.

06

Do we have to sell online or have our own coffee brand?

No. Both are optional fronts, added only if your team is interested and when the coffee shop calls for them. No package assumes or requires them; if you want them, they are worked on within the hours you choose.

Bonus included with the consulting

N°02Ways to work together

Same starting point. Different depth of guidance.

All three options are consulting hours; what changes is how much time there is to go deep and stay alongside your team. The uses you will see are examples to size each package, not a fixed syllabus: when we start, we agree with your team where the hours go. You don't need to plan them up front: the hours never expire and are used as the project actually needs them.

N°03Examples of how to use the hours

How the hours could be used.

Pick a package to see one possible split, built from the most common questions people have before opening a coffee shop. It is not a syllabus or a fixed recommendation: it is a way to size each option. We define it with your team when we start and can move it as we go.

10 h example selected.

Example for 10 h

A clear start

An example of ten hours to go from “we don't know where to start” to an orderly launch plan. Topics and order adapt to the project.

10 hours

  1. 2hStep 1

Clarify the idea and decide where to start

We review your team's idea, goals and budget and use a simple Business Model Canvas to clarify who you sell to, why they would choose you and what to tackle first.

    Possible outcome

A one-page business map and an order of priorities.

  2. 2hStep 2

    Concept and first menu

We define the kind of coffee shop, a short menu and the coffee (your own or from roasters) in line with the customer and the budget.

    Possible outcome

A first concept and criteria for coffee, menu and suppliers.

  3. 2hStep 3

Equipment and tools: what to buy and why

We choose espresso machine, grinder, refrigeration, point of sale and the rest from the menu and expected volume, separating what you need now from what can wait.

    Possible outcome

A prioritized list of equipment and tools.

  4. 2hStep 4

    Total investment and projections

We estimate the total investment (equipment, inventory, build-out and promotion) as a useful range, with simple financial projections and a sense of the return (ROI), flagging what can be postponed.

    Possible outcome

A total investment estimate and first projections.

  5. 2hStep 5

    Timeline to opening day

We turn everything into ordered tasks and decisions for testing, pre-opening and launch, with realistic timeframes.

    Possible outcome

A roadmap with next steps through opening.

The examples start from a typical scenario, not from a prior assessment. The outcome depends on the information available and the decisions we make with your team in the sessions; we will prioritize clarity and useful progress within the time you hire.

N°04How we work

From a broad idea to decisions you can actually carry out.

  1. 01

Understand what makes the project different

We turn ideas, tastes and budget limits into a clear value proposition; the Business Model Canvas helps see it on a single page.

  2. 02

Design an offer you can actually test

We define coffee, quality, roast, menu, presentation, supplier or roaster, and a concrete promise to the customer.

  3. 03

Build only what you need to start

We choose equipment and tools and, with your team, build the right version of the bar and the menu you have in mind (and online sales, only if you want them) to show, sell and learn from real sales.

  4. 04

    Sequence investment, testing and launch

We estimate the total investment with simple projections and order the tasks so you know what to buy now, what to wait on and what to fix before growing.

What you can walk away with

A.

Business map

A simple view of the customer, what sets you apart, the offer and how you will first sell.

B.

Launch plan

Concept, first menu and the minimum equipment and tools to run the coffee shop.

C.

Total investment and ROI

An estimate of the total investment with simple financial projections: how much the project needs, where it goes and when it could pay back.

D.

Opening roadmap

A sequence of tasks, decisions and timeframes to reach opening day in order.

N°07Frequently asked questions

What matters before you choose.

Do we need to arrive with a defined idea?

No. Clarifying it is part of the work. All you need is the intention to open a coffee business and the will to decide with good judgment; in the first session we sort the questions and decide where to start.

Can we decide how the hours are used?

Yes. The examples show possible splits, not a required syllabus. When we start, we agree on priorities with your team and can move hours as new needs come up.

What can be covered in 10 hours?

It depends on how clear the idea is, but it is usually enough to put the start in order: decide where to begin, settle the concept and part of the first menu, choose equipment with good criteria and estimate approximate ranges for investment and timing. The larger packages leave room to go deeper and work more closely together.

Is the included access for the whole team?

Yes. You and your whole team get 2 months of access to pro.cafedelossentidos.com and unlimited access to the Coffee Bootcamp recordings.

Is the investment estimate a fixed number?

No. We build it from the type of coffee, equipment, volume, packaging and sales channels your team chooses. The goal is a useful range and a clear view of what can be postponed.

Are online sales or an own brand included in any package?

They are neither included nor required: they are optional fronts your team can choose to work on within the hours of any package if they interest you. Since we also build software, we can help build a simple online store if you decide to; outside services or extra development are quoted separately.

How will we work with suppliers and roasters?

We can help your team define requirements, compare alternatives and connect with relevant options. Final purchases, contracts and commercial agreements are made directly by your team.

Is the consulting online or in person?

It can be online, in person or hybrid, and sessions can be held in English or Spanish. Travel, expenses, samples, shipping and supplies are arranged and paid separately.

What are the payment and scheduling terms?

Payment is in full and in advance, through Mercado Pago or bank transfer (SPEI), in Mexican pesos. The kickoff schedule is confirmed within 72 hours of payment. There are no refunds; rescheduling depends on availability.
